# Gnist Fetch

Turn any URL into clean text your agent can actually read

## The Web, Minus the Noise

One endpoint, clean text out

Feeding raw HTML to a language model is a waste. Navigation, cookie banners, ad markup and scripts burn tokens and bury the content you actually wanted. Gnist Fetch takes a URL and hands back just the readable part, as clean Markdown.

Point it at an article, a documentation page, or an RSS feed and get back the text that matters — ready to drop straight into a prompt.

On the desk stands a translucent glass panel: on its left, a cluttered web page thick with navigation bars, ad boxes, and a cookie banner; flowing to the right, that clutter dissolves into a clean column of dark, readable text. Warm room light meets a cool cyan glow from the panel. 35mm lens, f/4, cinematic grading, subtle film grain.](assets/fetch-page/fetch-hero.png)

## Gets Through When a Plain Request Won't

Fetches the pages that fight back

Plenty of pages don't come back from a simple request. They render in the browser, or they block datacenter traffic outright. Gnist Fetch tries a direct fetch first and quietly falls back to a real browser and a residential proxy only when a site demands it.

You send one request and get the content. The retries, rendering, and proxy juggling stay under the hood.

The second, larger card shows a glowing dark-mode browser window with a small cyan shield icon labelled 'proxy'. A thin directed cyan arc flows from the first card to the second, illustrating a quiet fallback. Warm desk light, cool cyan panel glow, shallow depth of field. 50mm lens, f/2.8, cinematic grading.](assets/fetch-page/fetch-tiering.png)

## A Tool, Not a Platform

Built for people building agents

Gnist Fetch does one thing well, so your agent doesn't have to. Call it over a plain HTTP API with an API key, or open **fetch.gnist.ai** and paste a URL to see exactly what your model will see.

No SDK to adopt and no framework to buy into — just clean text on demand.

![Photorealistic three-quarter view of a 1960s executive desk where warm wood panelling meets a cool neo-futuristic world. A monitor on a brass arm shows a dark-mode terminal sending a single HTTP request to 'fetch.gnist.ai' and receiving back a tidy column of Markdown. Beside the keyboard, a small brass robot figurine calmly reads a clean page of text. A brass desk lamp, a mechanical keyboard with a walnut wrist rest, and a notebook with a hand-written URL complete the scene. Afternoon light, warm grading with cyan accents, gentle background bokeh. 40mm lens, f/3.5.](assets/fetch-page/fetch-agents.png)

## Try Gnist Fetch

Paste a URL, get Markdown

Open the web app, drop in a link, and read the page the way your agent would. Grab an API key when you're ready to wire it into your own tools.
